So I came out to my mum as non binary recently, but when she asked if there was anything she could do to help, I asked for a binder (she said no btw). I don’t know how to bring up a name change with her and I’m pretty sure she thinks it’s “just a phase”. my new name is andi and my pronouns are he/they.

My suggestion for this is to take it slow. Take it one step at a time and make it clear this isn't a phase and that this is who you are. Maybe wait awhile for the name change, it can be a pretty big thing for most parents. But if being called the wrong name gets to hard and it starts to affect your mental health then I do suggest having a conversation about it. Also I highly recommend correcting people when they use the wrong pronouns for you, it's one of the best ways to help the process move along. I wish you the best of luck along your journey, and remember we're always here if you find that you have any more questions. <3
