Hi everyone! And in advance, thank you for any advice/responses <3
I identify as a cis woman, but the pronouns she/her just don't feel like they fit me perfectly.
I kind of like the idea of using she/they pronouns, but I don't want to be unintentionally harmful or invalidating to the trans and non binary communities and people. I'm not sure if she/they pronouns will be what's ultimately right for me, but I'd like to give them a try. However I won't do so if this is inadvertently harmful. Any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated!
(PS don't forget to drink some water today <3)
I would say go ahead! If that feels right then cool, do that. As @maggie said, pronouns aren't connected to gender so if you feel comfortable with she/they pronouns as a cis woman do that. I think most of us in the trans community would understand (although obviously I don't speak for everyone).
Of course!! I’m agender but I don’t care what pronouns people use for me. Pronouns are not tied to gender at all, so yes, you can be a cis female and use she/they pronouns. Use anything that works for you!
I can't really speak from the trans/non-binary community but I'm a demi-girl who uses all pronouns! As a demi-girl I identify partially being female but non-binary (gender queer?) at times. (This I guess can also be labeled as genderfluid but I'm more comfortable with saying demi-girl right now.)
I personally see nothing wrong with you using she/they pronouns. I think pronouns are made to make people as comfortable as possible!
As I've explained it to my guy friend my gender identity is neutral, my sex is female, and my pronouns are any! In no way do I think one affects the other. But some people may think differently! So thank you for asking! And I hope no one finds my answer offensive or misinformational...I'm still new to the community and I've only been out to my friends for a couple months. So if I made a mistake please correct me!
Sending love and support! <3
