Yesterday I was watching a Bollywood movie "Subh mangal zyaada saavdhan" which is about a gay couple fighting for you know... "existing". Today morning my father comes up to me and asks me why I was watching a movie featuring a gay couple and that I'm too invested or just constantly thinking about homosexuality, a matter of fact, I came out to them recently.

Hi! Sorry I’m late! In case no ones said it yet, Once and Future by A. R. Capetta and Cori McCarthy (lgbtq+ couple:)). It’s a king Arthur story but “king Arthur” is actually a girl named Ari in the future when everyone has abandoned Earth and there’s a corrupt government. It’s a great duology and there‘s a wlw relationship and everyone is lgbtq+! I also basically want to read anything once I know it has representation. It makes me sad that there is so little representation but especially for lgbtq+ people of color and people with disabilities. I hope you’re doing ok❤️
I saw the name and I was like "ay me too"
But on a more serious note, no, you are NOT too invested in queer films - or queer anything
I'm at the point where if anything gives the slightest lgbtqia+ vibes I come running. And that is perfectly okay.
My parents actually asked me the same thing ("why are you making everything about your sexuality?" "so if anything is gay you watch/read/listen to it?"). and cishet's just don't get it! Because they've never experienced not being represented ever.
So it's perfectly okay that you're drawn to representation. So am I. It's nice to see yourself on screens. I just don't relate to cishet's. And people like to relate to their media characters
